RAMS-RUNS THE ROX 5K/    
March 27/2010

PAC has teams up the Roxborough
Development Corporation' and Philadelphia
University to produce the  RAMS-RUN THE
ROX  5k.  The highly spirited 5k  will be run
on a new course in 2010 starting and
finishing on Philadelphia University.  The
race is well participated by Philadelphia
University students and residents of
Roxborough/ East Falls with RAM
cheerleaders, Phil the Ram, music and fun
for all entrants of the race.  Proceeds from
the event support Philadelphia University
Cross Country and the development of Ridge
Avenue in the Roxborough section of
Philadelphia. PAC President, Dave Thomas
is head coach of the Philly U Cross Country
team and takes great pride in directing this
race with the aid of the runners on his teams
STUDENT RUN PHILLY STYLE       July /2010
CROSS COUNTRY DAY AT BELMONT PLATEAU
PAC has been involved with this event since
2007. The race is a 3 mile at Belmont Plateau
in Philadelphia. The event is held only for
Student Run Philly Style athletes and is one of
many races the students run to test their
fitness throughout the year. The SRPS program
was started in 2005 by the National Nursing
Consortium and draws over 300 youth in a
yearly fitness and leadership development
progam. The race fits the mission of PAC in
promoting fitness and athletic competition.
Awards are purchased by PAC for the event.
JACK SAINT CLAIR MEMORIAL
CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP
PAC started the race event in 2008 as a way to
honor the legendary Cardinal Dougherty/Temple
University coach.  The cross country race event is
held at Belmont Plateau with a separate men's (5
mile) and women's (6,000 meter) events.  
Members of the Jack Saint Clair family as well as
graduates of Temple/CD who ran for "The Saint"
were present at the first year event.  Plans are in
the works for 2010 to have the race a full time
championship with high school, college and open
competition.  Race proceeds help support the
development and maintenance of the Belmont
Plateau Cross Country race courses used by high
school, college and open competion.
PHILADELPHIA CATHOLIC LEAGUE
CROSS COUNTRY OPEN CHAMPS
OCTOBER

PAC has been producing this event for the PCL
since 2003.  The 5,000 meter cross country race, run at
Belmont Plateau is associated with the Boys & Girls
championships. The annual Open Champs is a special
event which brings back many PCL grads as well as open
runners to one of the most famous cross country courses in
the USA.  The annual event has been part of the USATF
Race Circuit and host of the MA-USATF Championship. Over
150 runners annually attend with race proceeds supporting
the Phila. Catholic Coaches and used to purchase awards
for the Philadelphia Catholic League Track and Field
program.  
38TH SCHUYLKILL RIVER LOOP RUN
NOVEMBER 14, 2010
Dave Thomas, founder of PAC has been producing
"Philadelphia Oldest Running Road Race" since taking it
over in 1993 from Dave Brier of the YMJA of Philadelphia.  
The Loop Race is run on the 8.4 mile sidewalk loop around
the Schuylkill River and has always been a yearly traditional
race hard core runners always return to.  Many runners also
use the race as a tuneup for the Philadelphia Marathon.  The
race generally draws over 250 participants with proceeds
supporting the Fairmount Park and the development and
maintenance of the grounds surrounding the Schuylkill River
Loop.
NEW EVENT FOR 2010
PHILADELPHIA TRACK PENTATHLON
& THROWS TRIATHLON

A brand new  event for all track and field
participants. The Track Pentathlon (200
meter, 400 meter, 800 meter, 1500 meter,
and 3,000 meter) is the ultimate challenge
for every track athlete. Athletes will compete
in all 5 events and scored against WMA
handicap scoring. This will enable
competition of all athletes no matter sex or
age!!  The Throws Pentathlon is a challenge
for Field athletes where athletes will compete
in 3 events (Javelin, Discus, Shot Put) and
scored by WMA scoring. This unique event
will take place on Sunday, August 15 at the
Larry Wilson Stadium (Gwynedd Mercy
Academy in Gwnedd Valley, Pa).
