Dave Thomas has served as the Coaching Advisor
to the
Student Run Philly Style Program since 2005.
He has been a competitive distance runner since
1972 and competed for Temple University. He has
completed over 75 marathons (17 Boston) and has
a personal best of 2:28:52. He was a US Nationally
ranked ultra runner in the 100k (62 miles) in the 1980s and was
the first American in the
London To Brighton (56 miles) and the
Comrades (56 miles) in Durban, South Africa.  He has served as
Head Coach of both the Philadelphia University Men and Women
Cross Country since 2006, Leukemia & Lymphoma
Team in
Training Program
since 1992 and is a certified Strength and
Condition Coach (CSCS) and USATF Level 1 Certified Track and
Field Coach.

Great Job to all the Student Runners who recently competed in the 2nd Annual
Student Run Philly Style Belmont Cross Country Race on July 22, 2008. For many,
it was the first chance for many of the Students team to run on the same XC course
that many Olympians have competed on.

   Congrats to all of the Student Run Philly Style Runners who most recently competed at Belmont Plateau on
    the 2.9 mile Cross Country Course.  They were able to run on one of the most famous Cross Country course
    in the United States.  Coaches can record your runners time for the July 24th, 2007 Race to compare to
    future visits on the Belmont course to chart their progress.
